Whether you are sick or you are fully sick. V.9 Whatever ails ya...has you covered.
My work at Soof Flash Embroidery, which I often describe as “like a tattoo, but for your clothes,” is heavily influenced by tattoo culture and its practices. This latest collection is inspired by a pilot program in 1950’s Indiana which saw school students tattooed with their blood types under their left arms, in preparation for a possible nuclear attack.
Called Operation Tat-Type, the program aimed to create a “walking blood bank” so victims could receive faster blood transfusions after an atomic bomb.
This story got me thinking about the invisible elements of ourselves that could potentially be life saving if they were made more visible.
V.9 Whatever Ails Ya… is a series of flash designs based on dietary requirements. From Diabetes and IBS to Vegan, plus a fill-in-the-blank allergy design. A way of telling your friends to stop inviting you for ice cream when you’re lactose intolerant, or, hopefully never, something that could actually save your life.
